Update: Here is a link to Peter’s Slide deck for those who missed this meeting:
Got a great idea for a killer product? Great news- it’s never been easier to get a physical product made. From Chinese manufacturing to kickstarter to facebook and twitter, costs and barriers to entry are falling right and left. BUT- 80% of new products fail!
This talk will give an overview of niche selection, product ideation, funding, factory identification (surprise: China may NOT be the right choice!), all the way through shipment and product launch. Bootstrap, Lean, and 4HWW techniques to mitigate risk and raise your hit rate will be discussed, with an emphasis on actual experiences succeeding (and failing) at the product game.
The host, Peter Keller, has been designing, sourcing and launching new products since 2005. In 2010, he founded FringeSport, where he launches an average of 2 new products a month
