Nathan Jones, the founder of The Freeloader, will be discussing his experience running a successful crowdfunding campaign as well as his experience on Shark Tank. When the company set off on the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign they had a prototype and a videographer and in less than a year were sitting in front of Mark Cuban and crew on ABC’s Shark Tank pitching to investors in California. There were many things done right and many done terribly wrong, Nathan will be having a frank discussion regarding the ups and downs of his lessons with the hope that insight will be gained and pit falls avoided for others.
Nathan’s company, The Freeloader, is a child products company that has taken the market by storm through re-inventing the way short-term transportation within families is approached. He has considerable history in multiple industries. From 2007-2009 he owned a restaurant/coffee shop in Austin, TX, was a part owner in a bottled water company out of California, a restaurant in Seattle, Washington, and a firefighter with the Austin Fire Department from 2006-2013. When not exploring new and different concepts and products he is constantly found outdoors with his three children and lovely wife, Sarah.
